President Zelenskyy orders a surprise, brillant and clever invasion of the Kursk Oblast in Russia to counterbalance the war
Published on 20 September 2024
The Ukraine Special Forces have invaded Russia under the direct orders by President Zelenskyy to create a buffer zone between both countries and protect the capital city Kyiv and other central and northern cities of strategic importance.
Not only did this surprise and catch President Putin off guard but also the British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and American President Joe Biden.

This is a brilliant move and once President Zelenskyy announced this special military operation and the reason behind it is a clever move to help protect Ukraine from Putin's rain of missiles of late from the Kursk Oblast and deep in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine.
The area equates to 1,000 square miles of the Russian Kursk Oblast which has major rail and road infrastructure, which allowed the Russian Armed Forces occupying the Donetsk and even in Crimea to resupply with military, medical and food supplies in holding and maintaining the 1,000-mile frontline across the eastern and southern part of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Special Forces got off to a great start and probably even surprised themselves how they have overwhelmed the Russian Army and even attacked Russian military airfields by drones and the many Ukrainian drone divisions part of the Ukrainian Army and Air Force, that are critical to the Russian Air Force attacking Ukraine from within Russia and Russian airspace.
For the first time since World War II Russia has been invaded by a foreign country - Ukraine and adding further salt-into-the-wound of using both British and American military vehicles and tanks and using missiles to hit targets across the Kursk and neighbouring regions in Russia.
While it may make the British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and American President Biden a bit nervous, it would be behind closed doors of Downing Street and the White House a high-five moment and victory of Western weaponry is finally attacking Putin on his home turf, something that Putin is absolutely raging at this latest development.
It is somewhat of a payback for the British after suffering from Putin's failed attempt to assassinate a former KGB agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in the military town of Salisbury in west England, and claiming the life of British woman Dawn Sturgess, while leaving her partner Charlie Rowley and police officer Nick Bailey in critical conditions from the Novichok Russian made agent, for many months in the specially created intensive care unit in hospital.
As for the Americans it is like the Superpower of the world have finally gained territory using the Abrams light tank and other American military vehicles, as well as the newly arrived F-16's the Ukrainian Air Force were finally allowed to have a few months ago.
The Buffer Zone
President Zelenskyy has stated that he wants to create a Buffer Zone between the mid-east border of Ukraine with Russia to protect major cities Kharkiv and the capital Kyiv and the resupply western city Lviv.
As the Ukraine Special Forces highly western trained soldiers have cemented their presence in the Kursk Oblast and maintained their positions.
The strategy is working for now as the Ukraine Special Forces have blown up key bridges and targeted both military and civilian infrastructure making it difficult for the Russian Army to counter this assault and push the Ukrainians back into mid-east Ukraine.
The Russian Army is not being led probably and most of them are new and young inexperienced recruits and conscripts, who do not seem to want to fight for a cause they don't believe in.
There is a lot of action across other parts of Russia including the capital city Moscow, having oil and gas refineries and ammunition dumps facing a barrage of drones, some as big as light aircraft flying low into the city and causing much damage.
The Ukrainians have embarrassed not only the Russians but also Putin himself as his inner circle of oligarchs who are helping to fund Putin and the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine on 22 February 2022.
What is the overall goal in the Ukraine's invasion of Russia?
Putin has made it clear that any peace negotiations into an end to this war, will now not take place while Ukraine soldiers are on Russian territory, as a power response to President Zelenskyy and have some sort of control over how this war turns out.
The frontline across the eastern, southern including Crimea is not only reinforced but impenetrable to both military land vehicles such as tanks and soldiers with the amount of razor barbed wire as well as the hundreds of thousands of anti-vehicle and personnel landmines.
The warfare and conflict along this frontline increased in Ukraine before President Zelenskyy ordered the invasion of the Kursk Oblast.
As far as reports coming out of Ukraine was that the Ukrainian Army is exhausted and very much depleted, and the Americans were leaning on President Zelenskyy to throw the towel in and do a peace deal with Putin.
President Zelenskyy and most Ukrainians do not want to surrender any of Ukraine's sovereign land to Putin or anyone else for that matter.
The thought of having to surrender the east, south and Crimea is unconscionable, so the next strategy is to bring the war and conflict onto Russian territory, so that Russians see and feel the same or as close as possible the pain and destruction, which includes the loss of life to force Putin to leave Ukraine for good and bring peace to them on Russian soil.
To really turn things around President Zelenskyy knows he needs to up the ante and use long range cruise missiles supplied by both Britain and America to knock out precisely a whole load of Russian civilian and military infrastructure in most parts of Russia including Moscow, maybe even toppling the domes of the Kremlin.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and President Biden have held private phone calls on whether to allow President Zelenskyy to use the British Shadow cruise missile that can be fired using special modified military vehicles and even the recently supplied F-16 fighter jets, and the American missiles fired from the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).
There is a race against the clock on this conflict and war, as the United States Presidential Elections will take place on Tuesday 5 November 2024, and if Donald J. Trump is re-elected. He said, “I will end the war within 24-hours of becoming President”.
What the deal will look like is anyone's guess, but it seems to indicate that Ukraine will lease Crimea to the Russians, but as far as the east and south of Ukraine part of a peace deal or agreement will take much debate and convincing to make concessions and surrender sovereign land.
If Donald J. Trump returns to the White House, then Europe and the United Kingdom might have to step up to the plate and not only fund but continue to arm Ukraine with military supplies and hardware to repel Putin from sovereign Ukraine land.
