After seven British Prime Ministers from British political parties of the Conservatives and now the eighth and second from the Labour Party who takes over from his predecessor Sir Keir Starmer the only candidate and choice see Andy Burnham occupy 10 Downing Street to lead the United Kingdom until the next General Election, hopefully.

It has been remarked with the joke wearing off as British politics is famously and respectfully known from around the world as super stable, is now looking like Italian politics of removing collapsing governments or removals of prime ministers especially after scandals often revolving around illicit payments to Italian politicians.

While the outgoing British prime minister Sir Keir Starmer stood like the six previous prime ministers before him on the steps of 10, Downing Street and spoke the same sentiment of having the British nation dear to his heart and thanking his family for their support in his political and prime ministerial position and career, while like his predecessors speaking the last part of their reluctant farewell speech through bursts of crackled voices, sadness and tears.

Sir Keir Starmer took decisive action to prevent Andy Burnham from leaving his Mayoral position in Manchester to get elected by a sitting Labour MP Josh Simons for the Makerfield constituency so he could challenge a sitting British prime minister from within the British Parliament.

This caused bitter resentment and rivalry that has caused a deep-rooted split across the Labour Party, which has weakened the political party but hasn’t necessarily broken it.

The drastic action of Andy Burnham gaining the top position as Labour leader and now as Prime Minister of the most influential country not just in the West and Northern Hemisphere but right across the world, was because of the British people losing confidence and faith not just in the Labour Government but in British politics overall.

Not just the world is split into different factions but closer to home the United Kingdom division is getting more fractured and wider with a minority of far-right supporters whipping up anti-immigrant sentiment especially the illegal boat crossings from France, then you have this spread to the Muslim population and the Black and ethnic minorities that call Britain their home as well.

This is not confined to the makeup of British society but to the economic state of the nation due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and now in Iran and expanded to the Middle East, pushing up oil and gas prices which increases food and other household bills often exceeding peoples wages, thus creating more economic misery and depression amongst the population, which then increases the likelihood of the British people of voting for extremes either the far right or the left as a way of making life better for the British population and tackling the cost-of-living crisis.

As countries across the world battle high debt levels especially due to excessive borrowing during the Covid-19 pandemic, public services such as health, social security and housing are being forced to reduce these departmental costs to service the bugling debt mountain, and the United Kingdom is no different.

Andy Burnham faces these challenges and has even said he will personally donate some of his prime ministerial wages to homeless charities as he has made tackling the homeless crisis a top priority.

Staying on the housing crisis Andy Burnham has insisted that his government will build only council homes to not only reduce the housing waiting lists across the United Kingdom but to reduce the cost to the social security budget by paying less for rents.

The other policies he is proposing and with support across the British people’s political divide is to renationalise all of the privatised industries of the 1980s such as the national train companies, the water industry especially Thames and Southern Water, and even taking control from Chinese and the Indian conglomerate Tata companies for the British Steel industry, though both the Chinese at senior governmental levels and the magnet of Tata (nam) have publicly both opposed this action and deem it illegal.

Andy Burnham embarked on a summer tour of the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland to spread the gospel and bring a sense of hope to an already weary British public.

The first change Andy Burnham announced is Number 10 of the North or more precisely from his recently old city of Manchester to split power with the the south in Westminster, in the hope of being able to redirect focus preliminary up northwards to make the United Kingdom a fairer and just society.

Political leaders must adjust to being mocked and laughed at when announcing such dreams and hopes but after a few days it seems to have been broadly accepted by the British public and even having politicians in the Scottish devolved parliament welcoming this shift in British political policy northwards.

It is not just the domestic political and public policies that Andy Burnham must outline but his Foreign Policy especially with his interaction to President Trump who is a staunch Republican and opposite ends of the political spectrum of both privatising businesses and his incursion into Iran and the Middle East, which poses challenges for the foreseeable future.

When Andy Burnham was asked whether he had spoken to President Trump, he acknowledged that he had and it was a warm and friendly conversion and this was verified by President Trump himself.

This was a huge test for the newly appointed British Prime Minister and even he looked somewhat surprised at the positive early interaction with President Trump and a huge relief for him, his political party, and newly formed Cabinet and Government.

There is a lot to get done to make the United Kingdom a powerhouse and to tackle those problems that have befallen his predecessors of both political parties on opposite sides of British politics, and he only has less than 3 years to achieve his vision of the country.
